## Method

RVol = RVOT SV − LVOT SV; RF = RVol ÷ RVOT SV

Use the measurement units shown below. Some fields apply only to a selected method or condition; follow the interactive tool’s method choices. The interactive tool keeps missing measurements incomplete and provides its method-specific results and reference context.

## Measurements and acquisition

### RVOT diameter cm

2D echo · inner-edge measurement

- Use the specified view and cardiac phase.
- Align the calipers perpendicular to the structure’s long axis.
- Measure inner edge to inner edge and avoid oblique foreshortening.

### RVOT VTI cm

Pulsed-wave Doppler

- Place the sample volume at the specified annulus or outflow tract.
- Align the Doppler beam with flow and record a clean envelope.
- Trace the modal velocity envelope and use the reported VTI.

### LVOT diameter cm

2D echo · inner-edge measurement

- Use the specified view and cardiac phase.
- Align the calipers perpendicular to the structure’s long axis.
- Measure inner edge to inner edge and avoid oblique foreshortening.

### LVOT VTI cm

Pulsed-wave Doppler

- Place the sample volume at the specified annulus or outflow tract.
- Align the Doppler beam with flow and record a clean envelope.
- Trace the modal velocity envelope and use the reported VTI.

### PR pressure half-time ms

CW Doppler deceleration slope · Optional

- Record a complete inflow or regurgitant CW envelope.
- Trace the deceleration slope using the machine PHT tool.
- Average representative beats and use additional beats in atrial fibrillation.

RVOT stroke-volume acquisition, subtraction of competent reference flow, regurgitant-fraction calculation, and limitations from diameter, VTI, rhythm, shunts, and additional regurgitant lesions.

- Quantitative and severe-supportive findings · Table 16 · PDF p. 56

Regurgitant-fraction ranges, jet-width ratio, branch pulmonary-artery flow reversal, and pressure half-time shorter than 100 ms as a severe-supportive finding.

- Integration & limitations · Table 16 p. 56 · Figure 35 and integrative pathway p. 57

Limited echocardiographic validation of quantitative PR, load dependence of pressure half-time, RV remodeling, and indeterminate classification when findings or data quality are discordant.
